First Vlog Entry!!!!

I have decided that it is much easier for all involved (mainly me) to video tape myself talking about my self-improvement journey. Why??? Because I really don't like typing and Iam very entertaining ...

This is the first entry in my video journal. I plan on keeping a record of my journey as I begin living with faith and intention everyday. I will be putting into practice what I have learned and continue to learn as I grow and evolve each day. It is my hope that I will be able to take massive action, challenge and discard limiting beliefs, create new beliefs, create empowering rituals and habits and use the power of my thoughts to make real and lasting changes for the better in my life. Why should you watch? Because I will be experimenting each day with techniques from self help books, sharing assignments given to me by my life coach and having other great self improvement adventures. You could learn something valuable.
My intention is to vlog daily - even if only for 5 minutes. I am not going to make any promises concerning what I am going to vlog about - I think that I will allow this to unfold. My intuition will lead me to what most needs to be addressed. To be completely honest, this is more about me and my evolution into the person that I want most to become that it is about helping anyone else. If I do end up helping others it will be a perk.

Long time no post :) This is a video I made of my paintings for the year 2011. Not the greatest (didn't go to school for film) but it does have most of the paintings from the past year.

Paintings of the Day

The following paintings are "Paintings of the Day" for the last 4 days. Each time I do a painting of the day, I try to choose something that I want to learn and create a painting based on that.

I wanted to learn a little more about texture, using a pallette knife to paint - and what would happen if I held the brush toward the end, instead of holding so tightly to the tip near the brush. It gave me less control, and created looser more random strokes - perfect for this painting.

I wanted to learn a little more about different ways of blending and combining unexpected colors. I like the results.

This painting was a very short lesson in perspective and creating peaks of texture.

In this little ACEO I got a little practice with the line brush. I really challenged myself to work very quickly. I tend to over work everything and with this painting I only allowed myself 40 minutes to get it done, so there was no chance to do that. The other great thing about this painting is that the layers were put on in very obvious steps. I try to work this way - it makes it easier, but I usually end up skipping steps.

New Work Space!

I am so excited!!! I'm getting my own new studio space! Besides moving stuff out of my house, I'll finally be able to get away from home, hang up my art, and spread out a little. I'm still looking for a few good, creative people to share the space with. I've been looking all over hoping that I'll find the best combo of artists and crafters. Basically, I'd like this place to be filled with creative people who can help each other to network and find opportunities. The idea of it is to really help each other succeed, maybe have open studio nights and other events. We (as a group) would have to discuss the details of these events. All of it would really be up to the individual, if they don't want to or can't participate in certain things, that's fine. The space is a Colonial house, right on the water, right off Post Rd. I just feel that there are a lot of ways that artists can help each other out, and we should work together.
